These people simply just never give up when it comes to things like PTC names, especially those wannabe “PTC networks” that claims to handle billions of dollars every week. The most annoying are the strict admins, that don’t like to pay “unreputable” or “specific” members regardless that they’re using their site.
Another PTC found across the internet is very stupid, called SimpsonsBux.com. Either they’re a serious Simpsons fan, or they’re looking to make a few bucks to make this months heating bills. I can’t possibly blame them, by trying to make money.
But, not only are they gaining a very high volume of critism based on their unprofessionalism but they’ve also got legal issues. When I was discussing this with a lawyer, It’s possible for Fox Interactive (co-producers of Simpsons) can legally take their domain and all of their revenue made because they’re making on behalf of their trademarked name (which is “Simpsons”). Any graphic work they use is also a violation, and they could get extremely highly fined - As far as I know, Fox Interactive are already aware of this website and are focusing on threatening the website to shut down or may be on the lines of taking them to court for infrigement of copyright, and using it for commercial use that could result in bad reputation for “Simpsons” brand. That means, because they are an unsuistainable PTC website - when they shut down, people will blame Simpsons because they preferably think “Simpsons” or the creators of them produced the website. They know it’s not, but they use it as a way to claim their money back from Fox Interactive as a claim or attempt to.
I’ll try to get in contact with both companies to see what’s going on here, but if the lawsuit does proceed I’d advise you once again - If you’re going to use a PTC website don’t infringe copyrights otherwise you’re in for a huge bill. For something in PTC, my lawyer predicted it can vary from $250-$10,000,000 because it’s based on a financial service which can financially profit from a name copyrighted by another company without authorisation. So, it does sound harsh but it does happen.
